Spring into the Mid North Coast

Sensational seafood, pristine coastline, plenty of activities and a magnitude of natural wonders, the Mid North Coast of NSW is the ultimate destination for a family seaside holiday.

The Coffs Coast is the perfect location to discover a marine park, trek through rainforests or simply relax on one of the golden beaches.  Golf lovers flock to the area for the 12 challenging courses with spectacular backdrops of rainforest and the Great Dividing Range.

With a bay that’s two and half times the size of Sydney Harbour, Port Stephens is the perfect place for a lazy holiday.  With plentiful water sports and activities on offer, from snorkeling to parasailing, horse riding to sea kayaking there is plenty to keep you busy.  The diversity of Port Stephens’ marine life makes it a great place to scuba dive – you’ll be enchanted by the magnificent coloured fish, corals and sponge gardens.

From late May to early November, the waters off the Mid North Coast play host to the magnificent humpback whale as they migrate to warmer waters.  Whale watching cruises are available departing Nelson Bay, however the shoreline around Fingal Bay and Anna Bay are also great viewing spots.

Newcastle is an exciting city by the sea, bursting with energy and creativity.  Once a major industrial centre, it has re-invented its harbourside area and transformed into a cosmopolitan city.  The unique location of Newcastle, which is set between a working harbour and pristine beaches, along with its thriving cultural scene, has resulted in the city becoming a popular holiday destination.

Enjoy sophisticated dining, upmarket bars and spectacular water views at The Boardwalk, or for great pubs, cafes and vibrant music scene don’t miss Beaumont Street in Hamilton. Newcastle’s beaches are beautiful, with six in easy reach of the CBD.  Nobbys Beach and Bar Beach are great for swimmers, while Newcastle and Merewether Beaches attract surfers.
