Little Gem: Bellakai

Little Gems, Travel

Time and again the Gold Coast is voted as one of Australia’s best beach holiday destinations. And with the Easter long weekend just around the corner, it’s the perfect place to hit the beach and soak up the sun before winter makes an appearance.

One of the best things about the Gold Coast is that it offers up more than just picture perfect beaches. It’s also home to a fantastic array restaurants and cafes that serve up world class coffee and delectable food.

Enter Bellakai.

Bellakai is one of the Gold Coast’s most popular dining options, particularly among locals. It’s a firm favourite with breakfast goers looking for a side of ocean views with their morning egg-scramble or those looking for the freshest of fresh seafood for lunch or dinner.

Bellakai, meaning ‘beautiful food’, is located right in the heart of Coolangatta on Marine Parade. Directly opposite the beach, the restaurant enjoys virtually uninterrupted views of the ocean from their patio dining area. Appropriately, they’ve gained a reputation for their fresh seafood dishes, with the oysters being a highlight for many customers.

The restaurant has a fresh, modern feel to it and is outfitted with contemporary-style furnishings. They’ve focused on a clean look with white tables and chairs and splashes of red in the décor throughout the restaurant. Their fresh and modern style carries over to the plate; their food is always beautifully presented. To top it all off, customers consistently rave about the exceptional service at this family run restaurant.

Be sure to try their homemade potato rosti if you’re visiting the restaurant for breakfast. Rumour is it’s epic.
